Rationale

Through understanding the importance of Earth’s resources and how they are used to support our daily lives, we become more mindful of our usage and appreciate the need to conserve them.

Future Action

Your students will develop a greater understanding of the importance of Earth's resources and where they come from. They will be mindful of what they can do to conserve water and energy and to look after the soil and share this knowledge with others.

Your students will explore the different places and ways water is used in your school buildings and grounds.

Your students will learn about different sources of water, how water is treated, and conduct a class water filtration experiment.
 
Saving Water
Your students will consider different water-saving strategies and create a poster to promote one way to save water at home or at school.
 
Saving Energy
Your students will role-play ways to conserve energy using an everyday object and make a pledge for saving energy.
 
Soil Detectives
Your students will becoming 'soil detectives' examining different soil samples in the schoolyard.
