Rationale
Through exploring different types of homes and the materials used to build them, we can understand what makes homes special and use innovative ideas to design new homes.

Students will have a greater appreciation for their own homes and the homes of others. They will consider the materials needed for design projects and have an improved ability to plan before constructing. Students will be able to locate places using simple maps and be more aware of different kinds of maps and how they are used.
